Shit Happens :-) Your story reminds me of something that happened with my dog recently. I've got a 1 1/2 year old Newfoundland named Carl. One afternoon, while we were out for a walk, we stopped for a snack at a side walk cafe. Finding a nice table, I tied Carl's leash to the heavy wrought iron leg and we relaxed in the shade of the canopy - eating biscuits and tea. All was good :-)

After finishing my tea, I went to use the washroom (not it isn't tmi).... while indisposed, a muscle car full of teenagers peeled their tires out wildly in the street and frightened Carl. He lurched forward - dragging the table with him - scattering plates + glasses + nearby diners. He dragged this heavy table right out into the busy boulevard, but by then he continued to be scared by the traffic and the wild table behind him clanking on the street and sometimes crashing into his own hind quarters when he would try to stop. He lunged and lunged on like this for nearly two blocks - dangerously weaving through vehicles and perplexing pedestrians.

Finally a brave semaritan stopped him, and loaded a cooled down Carl into his car, drove a block and found the embarassed owner frantically chasing towards him.

I brought Carl and myself back to the restaurant to apologize and pay for the now broken table. The young manager, Cory, just relaxingly replied "Don't worry about it sir, Shit Happens."
